As a recently opened trail, it offers trekkers stunning scenery of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and Lhotse. This trek is ideal for those who do not have much time to spare, as the trail involves comfortable walks through stunning landscapes and amazing outlook points. From the mountain’s peak, trekkers can experience the stunning sights of sunrise and sunset over the green valleys. Currently, Pikey Peak Trek is one of the popular short treks in Nepal, suitable for a 5-day trek. Additionally, it is a seasonal snow peak where Sherpas of the nearby villages climb to leave prayer flags on the peak.
Named after a Sherpa deity from the local region, Pikey represents the sky and nature. During monsoon seasons in June and July, the Sherpas come together to worship their sect god in Buddhist rituals performed by lamas and monks. Along the trek route, one can witness the rich culture of the Sherpas, besides the culture of the Tamang, Rai, and Chhetri people. Stupas, prayer wheels, and prayer flags are all in abundance in this trek route, making this trek spiritually enriching.
