The Langtang Valley Trek, also called the “Valley of Glaciers,” is a trek that promises an exciting mix of nature’s beauty, biodiversity, cultural importance, and historical significance. Located north of the capital city of Kathmandu, the Langtang Valley Trek allows you to trek into the heart of the Langtang Valley. The trek promises the highest altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level. During the trek, you are treated to the panoramic views of the Himalayas from the top.
The trek is dotted with beautiful scenery of pine forests, crystal-clear mountain streams, rugged trails, and towering snow-capped peaks. Along the trekking route, you are treated to the sight of various species of wildlife and the beautiful natural environment.

Welcome! To Kathmandu, Nepal. You will be welcomed by an Asian Heritage Travel representative with a nameplate upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, and you will then be taken to your hotel located within the busy tourist district known as Thamel in Kathmandu. You will see some of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, including Pashupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

The Langtang Valley Trek starts with an 8-9 hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to Gatlang. During the journey, you will cross ridges with spectacular views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna peaks. You will drive along the Trishuli River bed through rough and bumpy roads, which add an adventurous flavor to the journey. Finally, you will reach Dhunche, which serves as the administrative headquarters for Rasuwa District. Be sure to bring along your TIMS card and Langtang National Park permit, which are required at the park entrance near Dhunche.
After reaching Dhunche, you will descend for an hour towards Syabrubesi along the Trishuli River bed via irregular roads. As you move ahead along the Langtang Valley Trek, you will enter Langtang National Park, which offers remote high-altitude villages and untouched natural beauty. Gatlang is a beautiful village surrounded by hills and lies within the traditional Tamang settlement area, which offers warmth and richness in terms of culture. This trek not only offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas but also offers an insight into the lifestyle of the locals.

We leave Gatlang and proceed towards Nagthali on the trail. On the way, we pass through thick forests, and you can spot various animals such as the Nepal gray langur monkeys. As we proceed further, the forest area opens up to vast expanses of grasslands, providing a wonderful view of the Himalayas, including Ganesh Himal, the Langtang Valley, and the Sanjen Himal.
After passing through these picturesque areas, we arrive at Nagthali, a peaceful highland offering a wonderful view of the Himalayas. Nagthali has a spiritual history, as it was a meditation spot for local monks and priests.

We start our day with a gentle descent of about an hour to reach the traditional Tamang village of Thuman, which is heavily influenced by Tibetan culture. People in this region are known for their hospitality and their love for singing and dancing, providing a rich cultural experience.
From Thuman, we will walk further through the lush rhododendron forest and meadows towards the Tibetan-influenced Tamang village of Briddhim, located in the lap of Langtang Himal. This region is especially beautiful during spring when the rhododendron forest is in full bloom. At Briddhim village, one can relish local food and experience the rich culture of the region.

Today’s trail gradually ascends toward Khanjim, passing along traditional features such as chortens, mani walls, and fluttering prayer flags that reflect the region’s deep spiritual heritage. Continuing uphill, we make our way to Sherpa Gaun.
From Sherpa Gaun, you can enjoy stunning views of the Langtang Range. The village offers a warm welcome, where the friendly Sherpa community shares their hospitality, making the experience both scenic and culturally enriching.

Today is one of the most challenging days of our trek because we have to ascend almost 1,000 meters. Our journey today starts with a steep ascent through a dense forest that gradually takes us towards the Langtang River. After a steep climb, we have to cross a stream and then continue our ascent through traditional water-operated prayer wheels.
After a certain point, we reach a large settlement known as Langtang Village, which is considered to be one of the oldest settlements on this trekking route. As we reach Langtang Village, we are surrounded by breathtaking views that are dominated by towering mountain peaks.

As you continue trekking towards Kyanjin Gompa, you will be treated to a stunning view of Langtang Lirung, the highest peak in the area. Along the way, you will pass by the largest mani wall in the area, beautifully decorated with stone carvings of prayer inscriptions, which reflect the spiritual history of the area.
As you cross several small streams along the way, you will finally arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, a peaceful settlement in the Himalayas surrounded by stunning peaks. In the area, you can try local cuisine such as cheese and curd made from yak milk, which gives you a unique taste of the area.

Today is the highlight of our trek. Though it is a rest day, it is the perfect opportunity for acclimatization and relaxation in and around Kyanjin Gompa.
Today is a great day for further exploration in and around the region. We can hike up to the popular viewpoint of Tserko Ri. Atop the viewpoint, we will be treated to a magnificent sight of the surrounding mountain vistas and the entire Langtang Valley. Tserko Ri is a viewpoint that tops off at 5,000 meters, making it the highest viewpoint of our entire trek. After enjoying the vistas, we will descend back to Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon. We can explore the region further by visiting the ancient monastery in the village, the cheese factory, and the glaciers.

Today, your journey begins a long descent of around 6 to 7 hours through dense forests as you head towards your destination, Lama Hotel. The way goes downhill along a winding track that provides a serene walking experience in the midst of lush green forests.
During your journey today, you’ll pass through traditional Tamang settlements that have a culture deeply rooted in Tibetan religion and culture. This provides a glimpse into the traditional culture and hospitality of the people before reaching your destination.

Today is the final day of your trekking adventure. After breakfast, you will start your descent to Syabrubesi on a smooth trekking route, passing through beautiful green forests and peaceful surroundings.
As you arrive at Syabrubesi, you will take a vehicle to continue your journey to Kathmandu. Once you arrive, you will be taken to your hotel, thereby concluding your trek to Langtang Valley.

Today is the last day of your journey. Three hours before your scheduled departure back to your home or another location, our representative will pick you up in a private vehicle after breakfast and drop you off at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport.
