You will see some of the city’s highlights while traveling to the hotel, including the Pashupatinath Temple, the Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, our representative will facilitate your trip and discuss your travel itinerary regarding your Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp. The rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

Day 2Fly to Lukla (2800m) & trek to Phakding (2652m)

On the second day of Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp adventure, an early morning flight from TIA to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, Solukhumbu, is scheduled. The flight takes you over the breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayas, including the majestic snow-covered peak of Mt. Everest. At the arrival at Lukla, the Sherpa crew unloads the trekking equipment, while your guide will lead you to a detailed briefing. You will also meet the porters before starting your trek towards Phakding.

Day 3Phakding to Namche bazaar (3440m)

After breakfast, you start your trek into beautiful pine forests, following the Dudh Koshi River course, to Namche Bazaar. About an hour into the walk, magnificent Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m) starts showing up on your right, while serene pine, fir, and juniper forests surround you along the trail. If the weather permits, Mt. Everest rises above the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge on clear days. Continue the walk until you reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. Namche Bazaar is considered a gateway town and the main trading center for this area. You cross five suspension bridges en route, the last one being the Hillary Bridge, which leads to the uphill climb to Namche Bazaar.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, English-speaking Trekking guide, Porter, and overnight hotel accommodation in the available local lodge at Namche Bazaar.

Day 4Rest day at Namche bazaar

The Sherpa Capital is another name for Namche Bazaar. You can spend this time relaxing, getting used to the surroundings, and exploring. In order to enjoy the breathtaking vistas of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other stunning peaks in Sagarmatha National Park, the majority of trekkers prefer to rise before daybreak. The opportunity to see the mountains’ shadows projected into the clouds above allows one to comprehend their size fully.

Try Champa, a type of grain that the Sherpa in the area frequently eat, and salt-butter tea as a source of energy. It is worthwhile to attend the vibrant cultural Saturday market, which is typically crowded with vendors who are frantically attempting to sell their goods.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, English-speaking Trekking guide, and overnight hotel accommodation in the available local lodge at Namche Bazaar.

Day 5Namche bazaar to Tengboche (3860m)

You will travel from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche on the fifth day of your  Island Peak Climbing with the Everest Base Camp trek. In terms of height gain, it will be one of the hardest days of the walk (around 3,900 meters or 12,795 feet), but it will also be the most rewarding because you will be able to enjoy the amazing vistas of the Everest Mountain Range.

The trek then leads us into a river valley before climbing towards Dingboche while enjoying the beautiful views of the Himalayas.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, English-speaking Trekking guide, Porter, and overnight hotel accommodation in the available local lodge at Dingboche.

Day 7Dingboche to Lobuche

You rest at Gorakshep and try to recover, but if you feel like it, you can even head to Everest Base Camp on the same day. The Khumbu Glacier Valley will be seen in all its raw and spectacular beauty, a truly fitting tribute to the grand Himalayas.

Travel Insurance

Nepal has a lot to offer with its incredible natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality. Travelling can also come with risks, which is why anyone visiting Nepal needs to consider purchasing travel insurance, particularly those involved in adventure activities or trekking, as well as those who will be travelling to remote areas of Nepal. A well-rounded insurance policy can provide peace of mind through protection against the following:

  • Emergency medical care
  • Trip cancellations/delays
  • Lost or damaged baggage
  • Altitude sickness from high elevations
  • Emergency rescue/evacuation by helicopter

Many trekking routes in Nepal are over 3000 meters (9842 ft); therefore, your policy should specifically state that high altitude travel is part of your Insurance plan, as well as the option to be evacuated in the event of an emergency. Choosing the right policy will help you receive the best possible care in your time of need.
