Discover the adventure of a lifetime on the Great Himalaya Trek, one of the longest and most spectacular trekking routes in the world. This epic journey stretches across Nepal, from the eastern slopes of Kanchenjunga to the far western border at Hilsa, taking trekkers through a remarkable variety of landscapes, cultures, and elevations.
The high route traverses the highest continuous path in Nepal, averaging 3,750 meters (12,000 feet) above sea level, with mountain passes rising to 6,200 meters (20,300 feet). Over 1,400 kilometers (870 miles), adventurers can expect a staggering rise of 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) each day, making it one of the most challenging and rewarding treks in the world. When factoring in rest days, this trek can take around 148 days to complete, allowing time to soak up the awe-inspiring beauty along the way.
Trekking through this path, you can expect to see some of the world-famous trekking destinations such as Kanchenjunga, Makalu Base Camp, Everest, Rolwaling, Langtang, Helambu, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Dolpo, Rara, Humla Simikot, etc. However, much of this trek also takes you through off-the-beaten-path routes, allowing you to experience the unexplored parts of this beautiful Himalayan nation. It is here that the real beauty of the Himalayan Mountains can be experienced, as every day on this trek is a treat to the senses, with dramatic mountain vistas, beautiful rivers, and lush forests to trek through.

Welcome! To Kathmandu, Nepal. You will be welcomed by an Asian Heritage Travel representative with a nameplate upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, and you will then be taken to your hotel located within the busy tourist district known as Thamel in Kathmandu. You will see some of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, including Pashupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

After breakfast, we will head towards the airport to take a flight to Bhadrapur, a journey that will take approximately 50 minutes. During this flight, you will get a chance to see the majestic views of the Himalayas, ranging from Kanchenjunga to Langtang.
Once we arrive at Bhadrapur, we will see a change in landscape as we enter the flat and fertile plains of the Terai. We will then proceed by private transport to Ilam, a place that is famous for its tea gardens. Once we arrive at Ilam, we will spend a night in a serene atmosphere.

After having an early breakfast, we set off towards Taplejung in a private vehicle. The place is famous for its rich biodiversity and is enveloped by the beauty of nature, which provides a pleasant atmosphere throughout the journey. It is also the gateway to the breathtaking Kanchenjunga.
Once we arrive at the destination, one can take short walks around the village to get a glimpse of the surroundings before having a peaceful night.

After having a refreshing breakfast at Taplejung, we are ready to begin our trek towards Mitlung. During the trek, the trail takes us through the lower valleys, where the fertile fields are full of various crops and fresh green vegetables. It takes us about four hours to trek towards Mitlung. While trekking towards Mitlung, the descending trails may be muddy, which can add some adventure to the trek before arriving at the destination. We will camp at Mitlung for the night.

Our destination for the day is Chiruwa. After having a rejuvenating breakfast at Mitlung, we begin our trekking journey. It takes us six or seven hours to get there with some ups and downs on the way.
We have some ups and downs in the initial four hours of the trek as we cross Tamor Khola and Nagadin, which is also known as the birthplace of Kirati warriors. Finally, we arrive at Chiruwa, which is a lovely village with a picturesque atmosphere. We are going to camp here for the night.

After enjoying a wonderful breakfast in Chiruwa, we will start our journey towards Sukathum, taking a trek that will take around six hours. During this journey, we will get to see beautiful landscapes as we pass through dense forests.
The route that we take to get to Sukathum sometimes gets disrupted by landslides. We will get this information from the post office in the national park. Once we reach Sukathum, we can take a nice meal and rest as we prepare to spend another night.

After a refreshing early morning breakfast, we will start our trek towards Amjilosa from Sukathum. This trek, which takes around six hours, can be a little challenging. We will trek through dense forest and deep gorges, and the spectacular views of towering waterfalls will make all fatigue disappear. The music of the flowing rivers along the way will make you forget all the troubles of the day, but we must be careful on this trek, too.
Our trek for the day ends at Amjilosa, where we will stay overnight.

After taking our breakfast, we leave Amjilosa and proceed towards Kyapra, which is a six-hour trek. On the way, we shall go through dense, shadowy forests as we descend towards Ghunsa Khola at Thyanyani.
Today, the trek is a bit easier as the climb is not as steep as the previous days, and we shall reach the outskirts of Kyapra, where we shall stay the night after a long, though not difficult, trek.

After having a hearty breakfast at Kyapra, we begin our journey towards Ghunsa. Along the way, the scenic beauty of the colorful rhododendrons and azaleas will add more charm to the trek.
We will cross the Tibetan refugee settlement of Phale, where one can find various local handmade products to boost energy levels. Then, the trail takes us through the beautiful pine and conifer forests before reaching Ghunsa, which is the destination for the day. We will stay overnight at Ghunsa.

A day of acclimatization awaits us. After a series of consecutive days of trekking, we need a day to rest and acclimatize. Ghunsa is a wonderful village to explore, so we can spend the day taking short walks to explore this village. We will overnight in Ghunsa.

After having breakfast at Ghunsa in the early morning, we are heading towards Kangbachen via one of the most spectacular routes in the area. Along the way, one can find the trail adorned with wildflowers and snow, with breathtaking views of the mountains. The glorious rhododendrons are found throughout the forest, and this trek promises to be one of the best.
After descending the trail for a short distance, we arrive at Kangbachen.

After a good breakfast at Kangbachen, we shall leave early in the morning for Lhonak. Today’s trek may prove to be one of the toughest days, as we shall take about six to seven hours to reach our destination. Once we reach the place, we shall enjoy a warm and well-deserved night at Lhonak before moving towards the next destination.

Finally, we set out from Lhonak towards Kanchenjunga Base Camp. Today is a day that is sure to be filled with wonder and awe as we are surrounded by beautiful mountain views. The trek takes approximately seven hours to get to the base camp.
There are also paths available for those who wish to take them, making the trek easier. The trek is moderately difficult for two hours, followed by a steep part with loose rocks. But as we reach Kanchenjunga Base Camp, all tiredness will be forgotten as we are treated to beautiful views of the Himalayas. We will be camping overnight near the base camp.

After experiencing the awe-inspiring beauty of the Kanchenjunga Base Camp, we now begin our return trek to Ghunsa. From Ghunsa, we shall join another trek that is a part of the Great Himalayan Trail traverse.

After a refreshing night at Ghunsa, we begin the day with a healthy breakfast made of local cuisine. We then proceed towards Nango La Camp, covering a trek of five hours. The trek starts with a descent on the main trail, after which we will take a turn towards the junction, followed by a crossing of Ghunsa Khola. We then ascend towards the vast grazing areas, where we will set up camp for the night.

After a healthy breakfast at Nango La Camp, we will proceed towards Yangma Kola, which is our camping location for the day. If we can reach Nango La early in the day, we will be treated to spectacular views of the surroundings, as it offers a panoramic view. After descending into a beautiful bowl-shaped valley, we will then trek through dense forests, which will take us to Yangma Kola. We will be camping here for the night.

We leave Yangma Kola and proceed towards Olangchun Gola. It takes us about eight hours to get there, and therefore, the time available to us to explore the place is very limited. Olangchun Gola is known as the business center between Nepal and Tibet. We are going to camp at this place.

Today is the day set aside for acclimatization at Olangchun Gola. This is a day off to acclimatize and to recharge one’s energy levels. While at the village, one can take leisurely walks within the village and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains and the special atmosphere of the ancient village of the traders.

After a good night’s sleep at Olangchun Gola, the next day begins with breakfast before heading towards the final destination of the day, which is the camping site at Upper Langmale. On this day of the trek, the trekking trail takes us through pristine nature with pine and rhododendron forests all around us. Along the way, one can observe heaps of stones which act as markers or signposts for the trekking trail. Finally, the destination of the day is the camping site at Upper Langmale.

After enjoying a good breakfast at Upper Langmale, we shall start our trek towards Pass Camp, which may take us about six hours. During the trek, we shall pass through dense rhododendron forests, as well as the beautiful Tamor River, before finally camping at Pass Camp.

We are heading towards Chaurikharka, and one of the toughest parts of the trek awaits us. We have to cross the majestic peak of Lumba Sumba, which rises to a height of 5,200 meters. Then there are some ups and downs on the trail before we descend to Chaurikharka, where we will camp overnight.

After breakfast at Chaurikharka, we proceed towards Thudam. The route leads us down from Chaurikharka, gradually bringing us closer to inhabited areas. It takes us three hours of trekking before we reach a point where we are given a choice: we can take the route towards Lyasha in Tibet or continue on the route towards Thudam. We take the route to Thudam, our final destination for the day. It takes us 7 hours to trek to Thudam, after which we will camp.

We trek from Thudam to Kharka via the bank of Chujung Khola. During the course of this trek, we are rewarded with the most captivating views of the Makalu Mountain Range. During this trek, we pass through the habitats of endangered species such as the red panda. If we are lucky, we may even get a glimpse of the red panda. It takes us around six hours to reach Kharka, where we camp.

Our trek continues from Kharka to Chyamtang. The trail goes through dense rhododendron forests and ups and downs. After crossing a suspension bridge over the Arun River, we climb for an hour before reaching Chyamtang. The trek takes around seven hours, and we will be camping at Chyamtang tonight.

After having a warming breakfast at Chyamtang, we set off towards Lomi Village. Along the way, the trail takes us over a small pass before descending the hill. We then cross the Arun River before arriving at the lovely village of Lomi at the end of the day, where we camp for the night.

After having a delightful stay at the enchanting Lomi Village, we are now heading towards Hongon, which marks the final departure from the Kanchenjunga region. The trek to Hongon is relatively easy; however, the trek would take us approximately six to seven hours. We will be halting at Hongon for the night.

We trek towards High Camp, which takes us about six hours to get there. The trekking trail is moderate in difficulty, with some steep ridge walks on the way. We cross a small pass at an altitude of 2,710 meters before arriving at High Camp, where we camp for the night.

As we start from High Camp and head towards Molun Pokhari, we traverse through rough terrain and dense forests. Once we come out of the forest area, we get an opportunity to enjoy the scenic view of the Arun River. The trail takes us through the majestic Molun Pokhari Lake, where we get an opportunity to see many chortens built by locals. As we cannot camp near the lake, we will move further and camp in the valley.

After an early breakfast, we start towards Dhunge Kharkha. The altitude is not very high, but we have to climb steadily on a narrow track until we reach a ridge. From there, we move in a southeastern direction, going higher and crossing a pass at 4,200 meters. Then we start descending towards a lake located near a stream, cross the Dhunge Khola, and camp there.

We trek from Dhunge Kharka toward Khola Kharka, where we will set up camp for the night. This will serve as our stopover before continuing to Cave Camp.

We are moving from Cave Camp towards Kalo Pokhari, which is known in the area for its dark or almost black waters. The trail includes some uphill and downhill walks before arriving at this extraordinary destination. We are going to set up camp near Kalo Pokhari for the night.

We continue our trek towards Grazing Kharka via Kalo Pokhari. This trek offers us a challenging experience with steep descents and tiresome ascents before we reach the valley. We will set up camp at the popular Kharka campsite and overnight here.

We trek from Grazing Kharka to Yangla Kharka via routes that are decorated with dense forests and streams that flow calmly. The routes decorated with greenery will lead us along the Barun Khola, finally reaching Yangla Kharka, where we shall camp for the night.

As we are experiencing a notable change in altitude, we need to get proper rest for acclimatization. However, today is an excellent day for us to explore Sherpa villages and experience their unique culture. We may also enjoy the beautiful view of yaks grazing peacefully in the meadows.

After proper rest and acclimatization, we headed towards Makalu Base Camp. The trekking route provides an outstanding view of Everest, Lhotse, Baruntse, and Makalu. The change in altitude makes it a challenging trek, but the beauty of the scenery and the sense of achievement make it all worthwhile when we reach the base camp.

With the significant change in elevation ahead, we need time for proper acclimatization. We will spend the day resting at our camp on the outskirts of Makalu Base Camp.

We head towards Swiss Base Camp, which takes us five to six hours to trek. The trails are challenging, and we have to jump from one boulder to another as we trek through the area. We camp near the massive giant of 8,000 meters and experience the ultimate adventure thrill. Our campsite for the night will be Swiss Base Camp.

Before reaching an altitude of 5,700 meters, we must get proper rest as well as acclimatize ourselves. In order to avoid altitude sickness, we have decided that this day shall be dedicated to acclimatizing our bodies as well as minds, as we shall be facing many challenges at the next altitude.

We trek towards Sherpani Col Base Camp with the Barun and Makalu Glaciers in view on the right as we trek through the valley. The trek is quite challenging with a lot of boulder hopping. This is because the easy trail is gradually replaced by huge rocks that are not properly fixed on the ground. At the end of the valley, we get a great view of Everest and Lhotse. Overnight at Sherpani Col Base Camp.

We continue on our way to Baruntse High Camp, and this is one of the toughest sections of the trek. The route requires us to go through boulder hopping, and it takes us through a glacier climb. At the end of the valley, we are presented with a wall, which takes us four hours to get to the base, and then another hour to get to the top of East Col. This is a tricky route, and we have to be careful as we make our way up. After the glacier climb, we get to the Baruntse Plateau, but we are not done yet, as we then have to make our way through the plateau for another three hours to get to the Baruntse High Camp, where we will be spending the night.

We continue our journey towards Honku Basin, crossing the West Col at an altitude of 6,143 meters. After that, we descend into the Honku Valley, which is located close to the five glacial lakes known as Panch Pokhari. We will camp at a suitable location in the valley for the night.

With an early breakfast, we start our trek towards Amphu Lapcha Base, situated at 5,400 meters. The base is situated at the bottom of the ridge connecting the Honku Valley and Imja Valley. Along this trek, we get to see some wonderful views of various surrounding peaks, including the famous Ama Dablam. We will set up our camp in a suitable location for our overnight stay.

Before embarking on the long trek to Chukung, we take time to rest and acclimatize. We will spend another night at our camp in Amphu Lapcha.

After a good rest at Amphu Lapcha, with a good breakfast, we are now on our way to Chukung. The trek is expected to take around ten to twelve hours to complete. During the trek, we go through the snowy terrain, which is protected by ropes as we descend, thus needing extra care when going through this area. Going in a southern direction from the east means we get less snow, as well as some warmth from the sun, making the trek a bit easier. Today, we end our camping at Chukung.

After an early breakfast, we begin the trek towards the Kongma La Pass, then follow the long descent to Lobuche. Along the way, we cross a ridge and an old lateral moraine before the rocky scramble. On the other side of the pass, the views are spectacular: the Rolwaling Valley stretches out to the west, and Ama Dablam dominates the southeast horizon. The way down from the pass is relatively easy, involving the crossing of a small glacier usually covered with snow.
As we descend towards the pastures below the snowline, the spectacular sight of Ama Dablam and the imposing north face of Cholatse opens up before us. The trek to Lobuche follows grassy slopes above Tshola Tsho Lake and then joins the main trekking trail from Tengboche and Pheriche towards Everest. From here, the trail is relatively flat as we follow the west bank of the Khumbu Glacier Valley until Lobuche is reached.

We head towards Dzongla, a place with an altitude of 5,420 meters. The trek to our destination takes about five hours. Along the way, we get to see magnificent views of Mount Ama Dablam as we take an off-the-beaten-path trail away from the main trail to Mount Everest. The Khumbu Glacier will be our companion as we walk along our trail. We will overnight at Dzongla.

We had a hearty breakfast at Dzongla, and then we set off for Thangnka, which is at an altitude of 4,700 meters. It would take us around seven hours to get there, and the best part of the trek would be the experience of crossing the breathtaking Cho La Pass, which is at an altitude of 5,368 meters. It would be a tiring day, but it would be worth it, and we would be spending the night at Thangnka.

We leave Gokyo and climb towards Gokyo Ri, which is a two-hour trek. The tiredness of the previous day’s trek vanishes as we are treated to the sight of the majestic peaks of the Himalayas, rising high above 8,000 meters, including Gyangchung Kang (7,922 m), Lhotse (8,501 m), Makalu (8,475 m), Cholatse, Cho Oyu (8,153 m), and Mt. Everest (8,848 m). In the valley below, we see the Ngozumpa Glacier in all its glory, adding beauty to the panorama around us. We camp at a suitable spot around Gokyo Ri for the night.

From Gokyo Ri, we trek towards Lungden, where we will camp for the night at an altitude of 4,400 meters. From Lungden, we trek to Thame, and the route continues to descend to Lukla. Bigu Gompa is a small village of the Sherpas, which is the endpoint of the Rolwaling section of the Great Himalayan Trek. We will camp here tonight, enjoying the peaceful environment of the village.

We trek from the Bigu Gompa monastery and the local village, passing through remote villages and crossing valleys using suspension bridges. From this point, we trek further through the wilderness with spectacular views of the Mt. Gauri Shankar range and camp near the Sherpa village.

Today, we are going to trek through rugged slopes and through the Rhododendron forest, where we get tremendous views if the weather permits. There is a small stone hut above Nasem Pati, which has been in use for the past few years, and well-trodden trails lead off in both the east and west directions. There is no water even from the spring. We continue the ascent until we reach Nasem Pati. On the way, we get the chance to see the forest, as well as the views of the Jugal Himal and Gaurishanker mountain ranges, and also spot some mountain deer and Danfe birds. We will be ready for overnight camping at Nasem Pati.

After a wonderful stay at Philim, we will move towards Deng. From Deng, we will trek towards Namrung early in the morning, taking around seven to eight hours. We will start with a small climb from Deng, followed by a descent through a suspension bridge, after which we will start to see clear signs of being in Tibetan territory. On our way, we will cross several villages, with Ghap being one of our stops for lunch. As we trek through the banks of the Budi Gandaki River, we will get to see wonderful views of Shringi Himal. We will then move through dense forests of birch and pine trees before reaching Namrung.

Shyala is our camping point for the day, six hours of trekking away from Namrung. A four-hour trek from the picturesque village of Samdo, which is in the land of the Tibetans, will take us to the base camp of Larkya, which is at an altitude of 4,460 meters. On the way, we shall cross several streams, as well as ascend around the Sarka Khola, before we camp at the base of the Larkya Pass.

After crossing the Larkya La Pass, we will head towards Bimtang, which is the camping place for the day. The trekking distance would take us about eight to ten hours. The place is at an altitude of 3,590 meters, and the trekking path includes ascents. On the way, we can enjoy the views of Larkya La Peak, Himlung Himal (7,126m), Chap Himal, Gyaji Kang, Kang Guru (6,981m), and Annapurna II (7,937m). As the path is icy, we have to trek carefully and slowly, taking more time than the usual trekking speed. We will camp at Bimtang for the night.

Leaving Yak Kharka behind, we start our journey towards Thorong High Camp. The journey to Thorong High Camp is about six hours. The distance may not be too long, but the journey is quite demanding. During this journey, we cross Jorsang Khola over a small bridge and start climbing towards the base of Thorong La Pass, where we find some tea houses. After reaching Thorong High Camp, we spend the night and start our journey to Muktinath.

We start our day very early in the morning from Thorong High Camp and move towards Muktinath via Thorong La Pass. After a relaxing stay in Muktinath, we shall begin our trek to Goat Kharka, which takes around six hours. We shall take a shorter route while going down into the valley of Kali Gandaki and pass through small villages, where we shall get to see old gompas and historic forts. We shall cross a suspension bridge and pass through Kagbeni, and then take the main route to Kharka. We shall set our camps in Goat Kharka and stay overnight.

From Goat Kharka, we trek further to Santa, which is at an altitude of 3,778 meters. As we trek, we pass through small gullies and areas with caves before reaching the second pass. We then descend and enter a wide ravine and cross scree before reaching Santa, where we spend the night.

Today, we are trekking to Ghalden Ghuldun Khola, which is at an altitude of 4,247 meters. We are expecting this trek to take us about six hours. The trek passes through a series of gullies, which are both challenging and rewarding in their variety. We trek through a steep gully and finally arrive at our campsite, where we are going to spend the night in a peaceful juniper forest at Ghalden Ghuldun Khola.

This part of our journey will be relatively easy compared to previous parts, as we will be able to enjoy a relaxed walk as we approach our fortified village. We will be camping in the village of Chharka Bot tonight.

After a good rest at Chharka Bot, we shall proceed towards Chap Chu, which lies at an altitude of 4,320 meters. We shall begin our journey towards Chap Chu, located seven hours west of Chharka Bhot. We shall cross small rivers and stepping stones as we trek towards Chap Chu, where we shall spend the night.

After enjoying a nice breakfast at Chap Chu, we proceed further on our journey to Maran. On the way, we cross the Chan La Pass, which is not very difficult, allowing us to make a smooth climb. From the pass, we can enjoy the magnificent view of the Himalayas. Then, we will be walking on the ridges and pass some chortens before we descend to the Tarpi Khola Valley. After that, we will arrive at Maran, where we will be camping for the night.

Today’s destination is Nungmala Base Camp. After breakfast in the morning at Maran, we are going to ascend up to 4,440 meters in altitude, and the climb is expected to take us about six hours. The climb may be tiresome at certain points, but the experience is equally rewarding as we move closer to the base camp. As we arrive at the base camp, we are presented with a wonderful sight of snow-capped mountains, which is a great experience. We are going to set up our camp in a suitable location around the base camp.

We proceed further on our incredible journey towards Bagala Base Camp, which is at an altitude of 4,400 meters. The journey takes around six hours and includes both ascending and descending sections. Upon arriving at the campsite near Bagala Base Camp, which is at the foot of Bagala Pass, we would be spending the night.

Today, we trek down to Temche after crossing the Bagala Pass at an altitude of 5,190 meters. As we are at the top, we are able to get a wonderful view of the landscapes and the Himalayas. As we trek down, we are taken to Temche, a serene area where animals are seen grazing. Temche is at an altitude of 3,900 meters and will be our camping site for the night.

We set off for Ringo, about a four-hour journey, traveling through beautiful pine forests along the trail. The hike is a welcome break as we make our way to the quaint village of Ringmo, where we will camp and spend the night.

From Ringmo, we will start our journey towards the far western part of the country. We plan to join the Humla section of the Great Himalaya Trek in a week. The trek to Kharka takes about six hours. The route takes us through beautiful and remote areas. Upon arriving in Kharka, we will camp for the night.

On the way today, we are heading towards Kagmara High Camp. The altitude of this camp is 5,070 meters. We have left the main trail and entered the far-west region. We have taken a shorter route that will finally lead us to Rara Lake. We have to ascend to reach the high camp. We will camp here and spend the night.

After having our breakfast in the early morning, we are going to start our trekking journey towards Kagmara Pass, which is located on the other side of Kagmara High Camp. It takes us around six to seven hours to cross this terrain. On our way, we are going to cross another pass named Kagmara La Pass, which is located at an altitude of 5,115 meters. As we move forward, we get to enjoy wonderful views of vast landscapes, valleys, and the Kanjirowa Himalayan ranges. We are going to stay at this place for the night.

We set off towards Hurikot, which takes about eight hours, and during this time, we will gradually descend to an altitude of 3,010 meters. Upon arrival, Hurikot will be our camping ground for the day.

Finally, we set out towards Jumla after an early morning breakfast in Kudigaon and moved towards this beautiful and secluded destination. As we are nearing the end of our great GHT trek, we have to prepare ourselves for the upcoming monsoon season. It might bring rain, which makes the trail slippery. We are leaving from Jumla towards Khaligaon. It takes us approximately eight hours. On the way, we have to face some ups and downs. We will set our camp at Khaligaon after we reach the destination.

Today promises to be one of the most picturesque highlights of the trek as we head towards Rara Lake. The blue waters of the lake, coupled with the serene environment, present a breathtaking sight, especially when surrounded by the lush greenery of Rara National Park. We might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the wild musk deer, ghoral, or even a snow leopard, as the surroundings offer a perfect habitat. We will set up our camp on the shores of Rara Lake at an altitude of 3,010 meters.

After a peaceful night near Rara Lake and a refreshing breakfast, we will continue our journey towards Karnali Riverside Camp. It takes approximately four hours to reach our destination, descending towards Gamgadhi and going through the bustling bazaar before arriving at the Karnali Bridge. After arriving at the destination, we will stay the night at the Karnali Riverside Camp.

From Karnali Riverside Camp, we will start our journey towards Bam, which will take about five or six hours. At an altitude of 2,700 meters, the trail begins with a suspension bridge over the Karnali River, followed by a rocky trail and a steep ascent. Then, we will descend to a small river and enter the pine forests, finally reaching Bam.

Today, our journey continues towards Piplan, which is a seven-hour trek. From Jogimara, we first climb up to a ridge and then descend 500 meters to a stream. On the way, we get a glimpse of the Rimi village and the valley. We pass through a number of villages and schools before reaching Piplan, where we will be camping and staying the night.

Our destination for the day would be Apsia Lekh, where we would set our camps after trekking for seven to eight hours from Piplan. Our trek would take us through traditional villages like Korka and Nimagaon, and then we would experience ups and downs. We would trek further into the mountains, passing through Puma village and peaceful pine forests, and finally reach Apsia Lekh for our night-long stay in camps.

On today’s journey to Punkha Khola, we cover a distance of six hours from Apsia Lekh. The trekking trail involves some ups and downs as we trek along the ridge to Rodikot Khola. On the way, we get to see the beautiful views of Saipal Peak and its valleys. After reaching Punkha Khola, we camp and spend the night there before proceeding to River Camp.

From Punkha Khola, after a six-hour walk, we reach River Camp. The route today includes steep climbs to reach a place called Kharka. From here, we get a distant view of Simikot village to the north. Today’s journey includes crossing heights of over 4,000 meters and then descending to Yanchu Khola. We spend the night at River Camp.

Our destination of the day will be Simikot. After taking our breakfast at River Camp, we shall embark on our journey of six and a half hours, taking us to an altitude of 2,900 meters. We shall ascend towards Dhurpa village, then descend towards Kharpunath, passing through the Kudila Kola valley. We shall also encounter tea shops, as well as a metal bridge, as we move towards Simikot. After reaching Simikot, we shall camp there overnight.
