Welcome! To Kathmandu, Nepal. You will be welcomed by an Asian Heritage Travel representative with a nameplate upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, and you will then be taken to your hotel located within the busy tourist district known as Thamel in Kathmandu. You will see some of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, including Pashupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

You will start the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo and Tibet Tour with a flight from TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport) to Lukla Airport in Solukhumbu. This is a scenic flight that provides a breathtaking view of the Himalayas, including the famous Mt. Everest with its snow-capped peak. As you proceed, you will feel as if Everest is drawing near. When you arrive, you will be greeted by the high altitude and the breathtaking mountain scenery.
From Lukla, you will start your trek along the Dudh Koshi (Milk River) as it passes through the valley. You will pass through rhododendron forests and enjoy the fragrance of evergreen oak trees. The sight of snow-capped mountains indicates that the trek will soon become tough, and this marks the beginning of an adventure that will test your mental and physical endurance.

The trekking trail starts easily and then gradually becomes more difficult as you continue. After passing over the mighty Dudh Koshi River, you may get your first sight of Mount Everest. As you make your way towards Namche Bazaar, the trail becomes steeper and the altitude higher, which could result in some shortness of breath. You must maintain a steady and slow pace.
Tonight, you will be staying in Namche Bazaar, which is the bustling market center of the Solukhumbu district. The fourth day of your Everest Base Camp with Gokyo and Tibet Tour will give you an opportunity to acclimatize and relax. Many trekkers wake up early in the morning to enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other peaks from Sagarmatha National Park. It is a great experience to see the shadows of the mountains cast on the clouds.
To recharge your batteries, you should try the local cuisine, like salt butter tea and champa, which is a type of barley flour that is a staple diet of the Sherpas. The Saturday market is also a great place to experience the culture of the people.

After breakfast, we begin our trek to Tengboche via the Everest Expedition Trail. This trail provides spectacular views of Mount Everest (8,848m), Thamserku (6,618m), and Ama Dablam (6,856m), situated on the eastern side of Everest. While trekking through dense rhododendron forests, we have the opportunity to observe Himalayan wildlife like musk deer, Himalayan tahr, pheasants, and monkeys.
Tengboche is famous for its iconic Tengboche Monastery, where you can participate in the daily pujas (prayer ceremonies) and relish the beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. It is the largest and most famous monastery in the Khumbu region and is a spiritual hub for young Buddhist monks. From the monastery’s courtyard, you can experience the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets in the Himalayas.
It is worth noting that the Mani Rimdu festival, a Sherpa dance drama, occurs during the full moon in November or December. This holy festival is a tribute to Phakpa Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, and includes complex masked dances performed for the happiness of all beings, which attracts huge crowds of locals and tourists alike.

Today, we start our trek towards Dingboche, which lies at an altitude of 4,410 m. This part of the trek is a bit tough due to the rising altitude and rocky trails. On the way, we pass through forests of birch, conifer, and rhododendron trees, and also see yaks grazing in the meadows.
The beautiful trek takes us down to Deboche, where we cross a suspension bridge over the rushing waters of the Imja River, and then slowly climb up to Dingboche. On the way, we see a snow-white stupa with beautiful all-seeing eyes, set against the breathtaking background of Ama Dablam, a perfect location for some amazing photographs.
Moving ahead, the trek takes us to a gentle climb to the village of Pangboche (3,860 m), where we ascend above the tree line. Passing through extensive meadows with yaks grazing around, we finally reach the beautiful Dingboche Valley.

After breakfast, you will start your trek and be treated to spectacular mountain views right from the start. Today, you will climb Chhukung Ri (5,550m), which is a tough climb but well worth the effort.
From the top, you will be treated to spectacular views of the beautiful Himalayan giants, including Cho Oyu (8,201m), Pumori (7,161m), the massive Lhotse Wall (8,400m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Makalu (8,481m), and Baruntse (7,129m). These are sights that will leave you in awe and prepare you for what is to come.

The eighth day of the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo and Tibet Tour is marked as a rest and acclimatization day. It is the best time to explore the surrounding areas, enjoy the natural beauty of Chhukung, and let your body get accustomed to the surroundings.

After breakfast, get ready to move towards Lobuche. The trekking route for today is longer compared to the previous days, so be prepared for a long trek. We will first pass through Kongma La (5,400 m) and then move on to the Niyang Khola Valley.
A long descent will take us to the foot of the famous Khumbu Glacier, and the trekking route will become relatively easier as we move through the rough terrain. Finally, you will reach Lobuche, which will be the endpoint for today’s trek.

After breakfast, we begin our journey through a rocky trail towards Gorakshep, treating ourselves to spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, and peeks of the Khumbu Glacier. After a few hours of trekking, we reach Gorakshep, situated at the foot of Kala Patthar, bringing you one step closer to realizing your dream of reaching the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. A three-hour trek along the ridge of the Khumbu Glacier treats you to stunning views of glaciers and mountains.
Buddhist prayer flags of vibrant colors mark the Everest Base Camp, signifying the spiritual importance of this site. During the climbing season, the landscape is filled with colorful expedition tents, giving the illusion of a blooming garden. After exploring the region and taking home some amazing memories, we head back to the lodge for some leisure time. You can unwind, read a book, listen to music, or socialize with other travelers, relishing the joy of this incredible journey to Everest Base Camp, which is indeed a dream realized.

Today, we start our trek early in the morning without having breakfast, and it takes us two hours to ascend to Kala Patthar. This spot is one of the most popular viewpoints, providing breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mera Peak, and many other mountains surrounding this region. After enjoying the beautiful sunrise views, we return to Gorakshep by passing through the icy lakes below Pumori and Everest, where we have breakfast.
Later, we descend to Dzongla via a zigzag trail, which takes us 4-5 hours. Dzongla is a small settlement situated at the foot of the Cho La Pass. During this trek, you will also get a chance to enjoy the beautiful views of Cho La Lake, which is surrounded by the majestic mountains.

Our trek led us to the Cho La Pass (5,368 m), which was a rather steep and difficult ascent over a rocky ridge. Once at the top, you will be treated to spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche, Baruntse, and the adjacent Cholatse. After the Cho La Pass, we trekked through a glacier, where we had to walk through snow and ice for an hour. After lunch and a brief rest, we descended for three hours over a rocky trail to Dragnag.

After breakfast, we start our trek with an uphill climb of 1.5 hours, followed by an easier part. On the way, enjoy the spectacular views of Gokyo Lake and its surroundings. After resting for a while at Gokyo Lodge, take a short climb to the ridge to explore the spectacular glacier and its smaller glacier lakes. Overnight stay will be at Gokyo Lodge.

On the fourteenth day of the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo and Tibet Tour, you will have one of the most rewarding days of your trek. Even though it is labeled as a rest day, you can take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings.
One of the options for the day is to climb Gokyo Ri, a 5,360-meter peak on the north side of Dudh Pokhari, which will take about 2-3 hours. Once you reach the top, you will have spectacular views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche, and the Ngozumpa Glacier.
Another option for the day is to explore the Gokyo Valley, hiking past two or three glacial lakes towards Cho Oyu. This is another great way to spend the day in the beautiful surroundings of the Himalayas.

Today, we begin early and hike up through the upper trail, west of Gokyo Lake, to Renjo La Pass (5,415 m). After hiking up a steep ridge of sand for three hours, we reach the top of Renjo La, where you will be treated to breathtaking sights of peaks above 7,000m and 8,000m, including Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche.
We then continue along the pass and descend through a stairway of stone steps to the southern side of the peaceful Angladumba Tsho lake. After four hours of trekking, we reach Lungden (4,380 m) for the night.

After breakfast, we set off for Thame, a Sherpa village famous for its slate-roofed houses and its traditional mountain culture. The walk to Thame gives us ample time to explore the village and its monastery, as well as absorb the peaceful atmosphere of the Sherpa village.
Thame is the biggest village in the valley and has great historical importance as it is the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay, the first Sherpa to climb Mount Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. It is also the birthplace of Apa Sherpa, who has climbed Everest a record 21 times. The Thame Valley has great historical importance as it was an important part of the “Salt Route” from Tibet in ancient times.

Today, after breakfast, you will start your descent through a rhododendron forest. At the end of the hill, you will cross a suspension bridge and then climb a steep hill through pine and juniper forests to reach Khumjung. After some time for rest, explore the Khumjung village and its surroundings. After lunch, return to Namche Bazaar.

After breakfast at a teahouse in Namche Bazaar, we start our trek back to Lukla, with lunch en route. Once we arrive in Lukla, you can take some time to rest and relax. This is also an opportunity to look back on the amazing trekking experience you have had over the past few days.

Before 10:00 a.m., the flight back to Kathmandu departs. Depending on the weather, the planned flight time may occasionally be altered. After returning to Kathmandu, you will be driven to your hotel, where you will have the day off to relax and think back on your journey.

Today is a rest day in Kathmandu. You will have a briefing session with the representatives about your forthcoming tour to Tibet. It is also the time when you will receive all the documents related to your tour, such as air tickets, visas, and permits. The remaining part of the day is yours to enjoy as you like.

After breakfast, our office representative will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport as per your flight schedule. Make sure that you get a seat on the right side of the plane so that you can witness breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world.
After you arrive in Lhasa, which is 3,650 meters (12,000 feet) above sea level, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. After that, you can have some time to explore the city. Take a stroll around Barkhor, which is situated in the heart of Lhasa’s Old Town. You can visit the Jokhang Temple, which is surrounded by the old market area, providing a great introduction to Tibet and plenty of photo opportunities.

Begin your Lhasa tour by visiting the magnificent Potala Palace (a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site) and Norbulingka Palace, also known as the Winter Palace and Summer Palace, respectively. Explore the audience halls, the jeweled and golden burial chortens (stupa tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and a spectacular array of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, and mandalas.
Next, visit the holiest temple in Tibet, the Jokhang Temple, which was constructed in 647 A.D. during the reign of Songtsen Gampo, Princess Wencheng of the Tang dynasty. Watch devoted pilgrims doing prostrations in front of the temple and admire the holiest statue of Buddha inside. Surrounding the monastery is the famous Barkhor Street, where you can join pilgrims in kora (circumambulation) and enjoy Tibetan tea in a local tea house.
The morning at Jokhang Temple is particularly lively, as Tibetan pilgrims congregate to pay homage, filling the air with spiritual energy. This holy site is a must-visit and one of the greatest attractions of any journey to Tibet, providing a unique insight into the region’s rich spiritual and cultural traditions.

In the morning, you will visit the Drepung Monastery, which is the largest monastery in Tibet, situated at the foot of Gambo Utse Mountain. This monastery, which housed more than 10,000 monks, is a historical site that provides a profound understanding of Tibetan Buddhism. As you tour the Coqen Hall, your guide will brief you on the worldview of Tibetan Buddhism and highlight important personalities in Tibetan Buddhist history.
In the afternoon, after lunch, you will visit the Sera Monastery, established in 1419 by Jamchen Choeje, a follower of Tsongkhapa. Sera Monastery is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries in Tibet. Your guide will show you how Tibetan monks conduct debates to acquire knowledge and advance their academic levels. You will also get the chance to appreciate the rock paintings of Buddha and the three sand mandalas in the monastery.

After breakfast, set off on a 250km journey to Shigatse, which is at a height of 3,900 meters. The road journey from Lhasa to Shigatse takes you through the fertile plains where wheat and barley grow in abundance, providing a beautiful sight of the Tibetan landscape.
In Shigatse, the main attraction is the Tashilhunpo Monastery, which is one of the six major monasteries of the Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is the spiritual hub of the Panchen Lama tradition, second only to the Dalai Lama in importance. The monastery is of great religious importance and is thronged by devotees from all over the Tibetan plateau, particularly during the New Year festivities.
The region around the monastery has the newly rebuilt Shigatse Dzong and the bustling Walking Street, lined with shops selling souvenirs, restaurants, and tea houses, giving you a fascinating insight into the local culture.

Leaving Shigatse, you will proceed to Nam Tso, which is the largest lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region. During the journey, you will pass through Suge La Pass, a mountain pass that stands at 5,440 meters above sea level. Suge La Pass is one of the highest motorable passes in the world, even higher than the renowned Khardung La Pass in Ladakh, India.
From the top of Suge La Pass, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the Nyenchen Tanglha Range, which has peaks above 7,000 meters. Nam Tso, which is 4,718 meters (15,479 feet) above sea level, is a breathtakingly beautiful lake famous for its turquoise color and peaceful surroundings. Along the way, you may come across nomadic yak herders, which will further add to the ruggedness of the landscape. On the shores of the lake is the peaceful Tashi Dor Monastery.

After breakfast, you will return to Shigatse, which is 354 kilometers west of Lhasa and 3,810 meters above sea level. You can relax in your car and appreciate the beautiful scenery on the way. In the morning, you can visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, which is the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama, the second most important religious leader in Tibet after the Dalai Lama. The monastery was established by the first Dalai Lama in 1447 and contains the tallest statue of Buddha in Tibet, measuring 26.8 meters. After the visit, you will return to Lhasa by car, and the rest of the day is at your disposal.
