Tour Details

Imagine a country where mountains capped by snow are rising like ancient guardians, where jungles abound, echoing rhino and tiger calls, and are filled with vibrant birds of many species, and where, through each street of antiquity, there exists a beautiful blend of spirituality, art, and culture within every city. This nation is called Nepal. This journey is an invitation to enter an experience that brings together the breathtaking aspects of nature with refined comfort. The juxtaposition of natural beauty and luxurious comforts is as electrifying as it is memorable.

The southern foothills of the Himalaya Mountains are calm, while the lakeside towns along the southern border of Nepal, and the hustle and bustle of the culturally rich heritage cities, demonstrate the immense cultural landscape of the nation, created from centuries of religious devotion and successful traditions. Ancient temples are standing side-by-side with impressive royal palaces. Colourful prayer flags are strewn across the mountains, and the local population welcomes all visitors with open arms.

To embark upon this deluxe adventure is not simply an escape for the participant; it is a chance to experience a living culture. There are chances to be involved with isolated communities, which maintain their ancestral traditions with great pride, to celebrate the positive energy and beauty associated with festival celebrations, and to visit religious monasteries that epitomise the spiritual core of the Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Welcome! To Kathmandu, Nepal. You will be welcomed by an Asian Heritage Travel representative with a nameplate upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will see one of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, i.e., Pashupatinath Temple.  With its striking design and romantic ambiance, Hotel Dwarika’s is unparalleled in Nepal. Over 40 years of careful curation by the owners has resulted in thousands of traditional wooden carvings collected from the Kathmandu Valley, which have been perfectly integrated into the architectural design of the Hotel Dwarika’s. The Hotels Dwarika’s is a truly unique place: it is a combination of a living museum and boutique luxury retreat, situated in a sumptuous and lush environment. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it.

Includes: Private transport, and an overnight accommodation at Hotel Dwarika’s or a similar hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2Half day visiting Kathmandu, half day relaxation at Dwarika’s hotel

The most authentic way to enjoy the appeal of Kathmandu would be to go around the city on a guided sightseeing tour. This half-day visit to the city would cover two of the most famous landmarks of the region. The first one would be Bouddhanath Stupa, which is one of the global giants of spherical stupas, and the second one would be Pashupatinath Temple, which is the holiest Hindu temple in the entire city of Kathmandu and would allow you to see the traditional cremation ritual taking place along the banks of the River Bagmati. Also, you would be getting back to Hotel Dwarika’s in the afternoon and would have the opportunity to just sit and unwind and do whatever you feel like, such as taking the PanchaKosha Himalayan Spa treatment, taking the relaxing body massage, and relaxing in the quiet pool. Also, to cap off the day’s event, you could treat yourself to an exquisite Krishnarpan dinner, which would be no less than a multi-course gastronomic adventure consisting of 6 to 22 dishes.

Travel Insurance

Nepal has a lot to offer with its incredible natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality. Travelling can also come with risks, which is why anyone visiting Nepal needs to consider purchasing travel insurance, particularly those involved in adventure activities or trekking, as well as those who will be travelling to remote areas of Nepal. A well-rounded insurance policy can provide peace of mind through protection against the following:

  • Emergency medical care
  • Trip cancellations/delays
  • Lost or damaged baggage
  • Altitude sickness from high elevations
  • Emergency rescue/evacuation by helicopter

Many trekking routes in Nepal are over 3000 meters (9842 ft); therefore, your policy should specifically state that high altitude travel is part of your Insurance plan, as well as the option to be evacuated in the event of an emergency. Choosing the right policy will help you receive the best possible care in your time of need.

Trekking Gears

For hikers traveling to the Nepalese Himalayas, it’s essential to have the correct trekking equipment. Depending on what elevation you’re at, the weather might change drastically, so it’s crucial to use and carry the proper clothing and equipment in order to enjoy a safe and comfortable trip.

If you don’t want to travel with your own equipment, there are plenty of places in Nepal where you can rent or purchase what you need (particularly in Thamel, Kathmandu’s main shopping district). There are also locations within the city where you can find stores that offer a variety of high-quality trekking apparel and equipment at very reasonable prices.
