The Manaslu Rupina La Pass Trek takes you through the beautiful Budhi Gandaki River Valley, which offers a wide range of geographical features, including farmlands, dense forests, and remote villages. Welcome! To Kathmandu, Nepal. You will be welcomed by an Asian Heritage Travel representative with a nameplate upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, and you will then be taken to your hotel located within the busy tourist district known as Thamel in Kathmandu. You will see some of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, including Pashupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

A scenic drive from Kathmandu by private vehicle will take you to Barpak village, which is situated at an altitude of 1,900 meters. The drive will take you through beautiful landscapes, villages, and green hills, and will give you a taste of the surroundings. As you arrive at Barpak, you will be greeted by the warm hospitality of the people. Staying at a homestay for a night will allow you to taste home-cooked food and experience the local culture.

From Barpak, the trek proceeds towards Mamche. Along the way, you climb to 2,800 meters above sea level. The trek takes about four hours. Along the trek, you pass through beautiful forests, farmlands and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains. As you climb higher, the views become even more beautiful. The sense of rural life is quite strong here. When you reach the camp at Mamche, you stay in a tent. The natural surroundings are quite peaceful. The night is a serene experience of the mountains.

An uphill trek from Mamche to Lambra Kharka takes around five hours, reaching an altitude of 3,150 meters above sea level. Along the route, you will also get a chance to trek through some forested areas where you can get a glimpse of various flora and, if lucky, some wildlife too. In addition, natural water sources are also present along the route, making it more convenient for the trek.
During the trek, you will also get a chance to see some picturesque views of rolling hills and snow-capped mountain peaks in the backdrop. Along the route, you will also experience more serene environments, and at times, you might get a glimpse of shepherds grazing their cattle in the highlands. Finally, upon reaching Lambra Kharka, you will get a glimpse of a peaceful alpine meadow, where you can take some rest and enjoy the beauty of nature before setting up your tent for a peaceful night’s rest.

Continuing your journey, the trek from Lambra Kharka to Mircha Khola takes approximately 7 hours, and you will be able to ascend to a height of 3,300 meters above sea level. The terrain continues to be rugged and mountainous, and you will be passing through thick forests and high-altitude pastures. On your way, you will experience a variety of steep climbs, gentle descents, and crossings over small rivers.
Continuing your journey, the terrain becomes tougher and remoter, and you will be further removed from civilization and into a wilder and more adventurous landscape. At Mircha Khola, you will camp alongside the river and be able to rest and fall asleep to the soothing sound of the flowing water after a satisfying day of trekking.

Leaving Mircha Khola behind, you will continue on your way towards Rupina La, reaching an altitude of 3,400 meters. It will take around 6 hours for you to reach this point. The route will become more rugged as you enter alpine territory. As you continue on your way through steep mountain paths and rough terrains, you will come across glacial rivers and mountain ridges.
As you continue on your way, you will be greeted by the beauty of snow-covered mountain peaks. The thinner atmosphere will make you realize how high up you are. You will be in a region of towering hills as you reach the base camp of Rupina La. It is from this base camp that you will prepare for crossing the mountain pass. You will set up your tents and spend the night in a serene and peaceful environment.

The trek from Rupina La Base Camp takes you through a steep climb to reach the Rupina La Pass at an altitude of 4,720 meters. This is a challenging climb, especially during the early part of the day, as it is rocky and covered by snowfall. However, reaching the top of the pass offers a stunning view of the Himalayan mountain ranges and glaciers.
After crossing the pass, you will descend towards Myachet at an altitude of 3,800 meters. This trekking route has some steep and uneven stretches before reaching more open and rolling hills and meadows. After an 8-9 hour trek, you will reach Myachet, where you will set up camp in a peaceful wilderness and enjoy listening to nature’s sounds and reflecting on your journey under a star-studded sky.

The trek from Myachet to Chongchet, which is at an altitude of 3,220 meters, is a 6-hour trek and is mostly downhill. As you descend, the scenery changes from barren high-altitude terrain to a more verdant valley filled with trees and grasses. This is a welcome change. There are rocky and sometimes slippery paths on the way, and you will cross a few streams. There are fewer mountain vistas as you enter these hidden valleys.
As you descend further, the air is warmer and easier to breathe. You can spot wildlife such as Himalayan blue sheep, birds, and sometimes yak herders in these areas. Though the path is a little tricky, it is not as steep as the previous days, and you can take your time to look around. At night, you will camp near a river or a field and enjoy the star-studded sky.

An easy and refreshing walk, the trek from Chongchet to Sherang Kharka takes approximately 6 hours, going down to an altitude of 3,050 meters. The trek goes through dense forests, hills, and a few meadows. As you trek, the environment is constantly changing, giving you a glimpse of the hidden valleys and the distant areas of the lower regions.
The trekking experience is cool and refreshing as you go through the dense forests of grass. Although the distance between the small settlements is a little longer at times, the environment is cool and humid. When you reach Sherang Kharka, your campsite, the environment is quiet and peaceful, providing you with an opportunity to set up your camp.

The trek to Ngyak from Sherang Kharka goes down to an altitude of 2,200 meters. The trek goes through lush green forests and farmlands on the hill slopes. This provides a serene environment during your trek. As your trek goes downhill, the air becomes warmer and more humid. Also, clear skies allow glimpses of river valleys and small settlements on clear days.
The route is less popular and provides a relaxed trekking experience. It has steep and easy stretches of downhill trekking. This provides a chance to enjoy the beauty of nature at your own pace. After reaching Ngyak, you can enjoy a cozy stay in a comfortable lodge or a tea house.

The trek from Ngyak to Namrung takes around 6-7 hours, allowing for breaks for drinks and meals. The trek is quite enjoyable and gradually takes you closer to the gateway of high peaks, providing more and more fascinating views of the mountains along the way. As you trek, you will climb from 2,200 meters to 2,630 meters, and the scenic views will keep you engaged throughout your journey.
The trek takes you along mountain ridges and then down into a narrow valley, passing through the first Gurung village of Lihi at 2,840 meters. The trek is quite fascinating, as you will enjoy the enchanting views of towering peaks, including Larkya Peak, and a serene environment created by the forest and natural sounds. You will also be accompanied by shepherds, birds, and forest scenery along the way, making your trek more enjoyable. After this trek, you will spend the night in a lodge owned by a family in Namrung.

Namrung is a village with excellent views of Siringi Himal and Ganesh Himal, while the view of Mt. Himal Chuli is visible on the southern side. Then the trail moves upward, finally reaching the village of Lihi, a picturesque place with chortens and barley fields. The trail moves downward toward the side valleys of Simnang Himal and Ganesh Himal.
Moving on towards Sho, Lho, and then Shyala villages, you will finally arrive at Sama village. While at Lho, enjoy the magnificent sight of Mt. Manaslu and the renowned Ribung Gompa. While in Shyala, the giant Himal Chuli and Peak 29, also known as Ngadi Chuli, greet you on the left side, and Mt. Manaslu and its icy glaciers fill the central sight, along with the snow-capped peaks on the right side, including the majestic Ganesh Himal Range in the background, where the day ends at Samagaun.

You will spend today acclimatizing and discovering the rich Sherpa culture by staying in the village of Samagaon. You will get to witness the thousands of Mani stones, chiseled with Buddhist texts and pictures, and the Sherpa women, adorned with their traditional dresses and ornaments. On a hill above the village of Sama lies the historic Pungyen Gompa, a monastery that presents breathtaking views of the glacier.
The gompa is named for Manaslu, and “Pungyen” is a bracelet, appropriately named for the two peaks adjacent to it. The gompa was leveled one year following the first failed Japanese ascent of Manaslu, as the locals believed the ascent had provoked the wrath of the deities. The mountain was not successfully climbed until 1959.

Today, the trek takes you down to the Budhi Gandaki River, where you cross a bridge over a side stream and continue by turning left towards the trail that goes to Manaslu Base Camp. As you proceed along the Larkya La Trail, you notice various mani stones. In the valley, the sides start to open up as you continue along the trail that now runs along the shelf above the river and through the forests of juniper and birch trees at Kermo Kharka.
After fording the Budhi Gandaki River for the last time, this time on a wooden bridge, you have to climb up the hill through a steep trail. After some trekking, you reach the stone archway with a viewpoint to the enormous white Kani. After entering the Kani, you get to stay at Samdo.

Today’s trek will be another challenging one. You will continue trekking along the valley side and then cross a wooden bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. After crossing two pleasant streams and enjoying the sight of the Larkya Glacier, the trek leads you around the valley of Salka Khola. Further ascent will take place into a stone guesthouse at an altitude of 4,450 meters. This is not exactly a tea house but an asylum called Dharmashala, or Larke Phedi. The day’s trek will be short enough for plenty of acclimatization.

A short climb is followed by entering a valley, and as you trek, you will be treated to breathtaking sights of Cho Danda and Larkya Peak, situated on the northern side of the Larkya Glacier. The trail follows the moraines of the glacier, with increasing altitude and steeper terrain only towards the end, before entering the Larkya La Pass. As you reach the top, the sights are breathtaking, with the majestic Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, and Annapurna II trekking towards Bimtang, which is a long day trek, and trekking through the high pastures with the giant Mt. Manaslu at your back is something to remember.

The trek from Bimthang to Tilije, which is at an altitude of 2,360 meters, takes about 5-6 hours. The trek goes downhill through beautiful alpine meadows and dense forests, and one gets to see breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Along the way, one will pass through small villages and get to see glimpses of village life.
After arriving at Tilije, one will stay overnight at a lodge. The night is a time to relax and enjoy the traditional food and surroundings.

The walk from Tilije to Dharapani at an altitude of 1,860 meters takes around five to six hours. The gentle winding path descends through the rice fields, green forests, and villages, offering beautiful views of the rolling hills and valleys. During the journey, you will come across small villages through which you will pass, allowing you to get a glimpse of the culture of the region. The gentle descent makes for a pleasant walk through the mountains, allowing you to take in the crisp air and beauty of the region. Once you reach Dharapani, you will stay at a cozy lodge/tea house.

After breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Kathmandu through Besisahar. The scenic spots along the route in the Pithivi Highway, along the banks of the Trishuli River, are breathtakingly beautiful. The road winds through hills and meanders along vast rivers. The vegetated hills and lush gardens along the route will escort you to Kathmandu. The scenic spots include rice gardens and rivers in their natural settings.
