The Langtang Valley and Tilman Pass Trek is a challenging and rewarding experience that combines the beauty of the Langtang Valley and the remoteness of the Tilman Pass. The trek begins from Syabrubesi and progresses gradually to higher elevations, passing through lush forests, Tamang villages, and a variety of landscapes in the Langtang National Park. Throughout the trek, one is rewarded with magnificent views of the surrounding Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and Gaurishanker. At the same time, one is able to experience the rich culture and warm hospitality of the local Tamang and Sherpa communities.
During the course of the trek, one passes through the sacred region of Panch Pokhari, where there are five holy lakes. The region is less traveled and provides a wonderful experience in the midst of nature, including a variety of wildlife such as the red panda, musk deer, and Himalayan monal. You will be welcomed by an Asian Heritage Travel representative with a nameplate upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, and you will then be taken to your hotel located within the busy tourist district known as Thamel in Kathmandu. You will see some of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, including Pashupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

Start your sightseeing excursion by meeting your guide and climbing into your private vehicle. Your first stop will be Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will walk among centuries-old royal palaces, intricate carvings on countless temples, and traditional courtyard-style buildings indicative of the venerable history of ancient Kathmandu.
Your next destination on your journey is Swayambhunath, commonly referred to as the Monkey Temple. Swayambhunath is a sacred stupa located atop a hill that contains both Buddhist and Hindu cultural influences, and provides fabulous views of the Kathmandu Valley and the distant peaks of the Himalayas.
The next stop on your tour is Pashupatinath Temple, one of the premier Hindu pilgrimage destinations in Southeast Asia. Pashupatinath Temple is built on the banks of the Bagmati River, where you will get a glimpse of the open-air cremation ceremonies and experience the spiritual practices surrounding the temple complex.
The last stop of the day is the incredible Boudhanath Stupa (another UNESCO World Heritage Site), which is one of the largest stupas in the world. The stupa dates back to approximately 600 A.D. and represents the center of Tibetan Buddhist culture, surrounded by local life, monasteries, and prayer wheels.

Following breakfast at the hotel, your first day of trekking begins. The route is not very strenuous, but there will be several ups and downs on the route, and hence, the trekking may become a little tiresome.
Trekking on the route following the Langtang Khola river, you will go through dense forests, cross several bridges, and pass through several small villages. The route will eventually lead you to Lama Hotel, where you will be staying for the night.

In the early morning after having breakfast, you continue your journey along the Langtang Khola by trekking towards Langtang Village. The trail gradually climbs as you trek through dense forests.
On your way, you get a wonderful sight of Langtang Lirung (7,227m), along with water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, and sacred stone mounds carved with inscriptions, which add a touch of culture to your journey.
After reaching Langtang Village, you will stay at a hotel and take some rest amidst the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains and villages.

After having breakfast, you start your journey to Kyanjin Gompa, a significant monastery in the region. Along the way, you will pass by the largest mani wall in the area, beautifully decorated with stone carvings of prayer inscriptions, which reflect the spiritual history of the area.
As you cross several small streams along the way, you will finally arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, a peaceful settlement in the Himalayas surrounded by stunning peaks. In the area, you can try local cuisine such as cheese and curd made from yak milk, which gives you a unique taste of the area.

Today is the highlight of our trek. Though it is a rest day, it is the perfect opportunity for acclimatization and relaxation in and around Kyanjin Gompa.
Today is a great day for further exploration in and around the region. We can hike up to the popular viewpoint of Tserko Ri. Atop the viewpoint, we will be treated to a magnificent sight of the surrounding mountain vistas and the entire Langtang Valley. Tserko Ri is a viewpoint that tops off at 5,000 meters, making it the highest viewpoint of our entire trek. After enjoying the vistas, we will descend back to Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon. We can explore the region further by visiting the ancient monastery in the village, the cheese factory, and the glaciers.

Today, you will be passing from Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisa Kharka, which is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,100 meters. The trek is for approximately six hours, during which you will pass through various beautiful landscapes. These include the yak pasturelands. Along the trek route, you may encounter yak caravans crossing the route. These caravans will give you an idea of the traditional way of living of the local inhabitants of the region.
After a successful day of trekking, you will reach Langshisa Kharka for an overnight stay. Langshisa Kharka is a quiet and remote campsite. It is an ideal place to relax and think about the trek undertaken so far. It is a great place to relax before the next trek of the Tilman Pass Trek.
