The Rolwaling with Tsho Rolpa Valley Trek is a remote and adventurous trekking experience in eastern Nepal that takes you through the untouched natural beauty of the Rolwaling Valley and the majestic view of Tsho Rolpa, one of the largest glacial lakes in the Himalayas.
This trekking experience takes you into the heart of the Rolwaling region, also known as the “Hidden Valley.” As you trek through this region, you get to experience untouched natural beauty and culture. The trek begins at lower villages and gradually takes you through dense forests, villages, and rugged terrain, offering you majestic views of snow-capped mountains like Gauri Shankar and other Himalayan giants.
One of the main highlights of this trek is visiting Tsho Rolpa Lake, which is at an altitude of 4,580 meters. The turquoise-colored glacial lake is surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers. The scenery is serene and beautiful. The trek also offers trekkers the opportunity to see and visit different Sherpa and Tamang villages and monasteries that have remained untouched over the years.

In the morning, you will travel from Kathmandu to Shingati along the Sunkosi and Bhote Kosi rivers, passing scenic villages and enjoying spectacular mountain views en route.

In the morning, we begin our trek, crossing a stream before ascending steeper slopes. You will follow a narrow cliffside path to Suri Dhoban, then cross a suspension bridge to reach Manthali village, and continue along the trail to Jagat village.

Continuing our trail, we cross a small stream and reach Gongar village, then proceed to Chhetchhet, a Sherpa village. After crossing a suspension bridge and passing a chorten, we arrive at Simigaon.

Today is an important day as we ascend to 3,976 m. We begin early, cross to the other side of the village, and continue through forested trails to reach the Rolwaling River. From there, we climb steadily through dense forest, catching glimpses of Gaurishankar along the way. After a steep ascent, the trail levels out as we approach Gyalchen.

Today, we walk through forest trails to reach Nyamare village. Afterward, we arrive at a Gompa marking the entrance to Beding, the largest and most remote Sherpa village in the Rolwaling Valley.

We continue along the bank of the Rolwaling River, ascending gradually to Kharka in Dhogre. Along the way, we pass a large Mani stone adorned with prayer flags and a rock painted with the image of a Bodhisattva before reaching Na Gaon, a village surrounded by stone walls.

Today is an important day as we head toward the final destination. Crossing a wooden bridge to the left bank of the Rolwaling River, we enter a prairie-like valley and follow a moderately steep ascent, with glimpses of edelweiss along the way. We then trek between two glaciers, pass through the ablation valley, and finally arrive at Tsho Rolpa Lake.

From today, we begin our journey back to Kathmandu. We retrace our steps from the glacial lake, descending to Na village. After a short rest, we continue our trek toward Beding village.

We descend through forested trails, catching glimpses of Gaurishankar, until we reach Shakpa. Continuing along the same route, we pass several villages before arriving at Manthali Village.
