Welcome to the magnificent world of the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek, one of the most exciting and cherished experiences for adventurers and trekkers in Nepal. The journey will take you through the very essence of the Annapurna region, experiencing a perfect amalgam of nature and exciting Himalayan experiences.
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is known for offering excellent vistas. Along the way as you trudge through rhododendron forests and then through agricultural fields and villages, you find yourself treated to majestic sights of Himalayan giants like Annapurna I, Machhapuchre or Fishtail, Hiunchuli, and others in front of you as you take every step of your trek.
Apart from the breathtaking scenery, the trek also has a lot to offer culturally. You will be exposed to the warm and ever-hospitality people of the Gurung and Magar communities, which are famous for their strong tradition and rich cultural background. We embark on our journey by a private vehicle from Pokhara to the village of Hile/Tikhedhunga, a journey that takes a short 1 to 1.5 hours. We then proceed to hike to Ulleri for a 3-hour hike that marks our overnight stay for the first day, while another option allows for a night stay at Banthanti Village for those taking a shorter trail.
During your journey, you will come across traditional villages of Nepal and terraced rice fields, providing a brief introduction to Nepal’s rural life. The last leg of your hike is a bit steeper as you climb 2,500 steps made of stone. You will enjoy breathtaking vistas and a sense of satisfaction when you reach Ulleri.

We carry on our journey towards Ghorepani on a not-so-demanding trail, which passes through a variety of colorful rhododendron and pine forests and picturesque wooden bridges. As we reach the beautiful village, the Ghorepani with blue mountains comes into view. After a couple of hours of climbing, we reach there at the end of the afternoon, when we get a chance to admire the majestic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m).

We begin our day quite early and trek to Poon Hill, one of the most photographed spots in the Annapurna region. Here, witness the most spectacular sunrise in the Himalayas with a majestic sight of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the entire range of Annapurna mountains.
After absorbing all these stunning views, we return to Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast. Our trek then takes us through beautiful rhododendron forests, alongside the untouched creeks, waterfalls, providing us with serenity as well as natural vistas. We have a brief stop at Banthanti, followed by our final destination for the day, Tadapani, reaching there in the late afternoon at an altitude of 2,590 m.

The trekking trail goes through rice terraces, villages, giving a taste of rural life in the villages, followed by a river crossing at Kimrung Khola, after which we have an ascend to Chhomrong, which would take us into the afternoon. From here, enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Machapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South, an inscription of which is the beauty of the Annapurna region.

Our trekking journey starts with a descent, and then we have to cross Chhomrong Khola through a suspension bridge. After this point, a gentle walk leads us towards Sinuwa, and we have a brief rest stop there. Our journey then proceeds through stone steps and a forest walk, and in the early afternoon, we will be at a place named Bamboo (2,300 m). The reason this place is famous is because of its lush environment, a large number of lemurs here, and a cozy tea house in between the trees, which is an ideal location to pass the night. goods.

We further our trek towards Deurali via Dovan village and the scenic Himalayan Hotel. The trail passes through an enchanting rhododendron and bamboo forest, making the journey serene and picturesque. After a short break taken at the Hotel Himalaya, the path takes an upward climb onto a drier, forested section. From there, the trail descends towards the river and climbs again to reach Deurali at 2,920 meters, which is our rest point for the day.

As we move ahead on our journey, the trekking trail follows the Modi Khola River. The trekkers get to experience the breathtaking views on the way. The trekkers are exposed to an astonishing view of the divine Machhapuchchhre mountain. After climbing for about 40 minutes, we finally reached MBC or Machhapuchchhre Base Camp. We give ourselves time to rest at the base camp.
From MBC, we continue trekking towards Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Located inside the Annapurna Sanctuary, an oval-shaped amphitheater of peaks encircled by massive mountains, the ABC trek offers a very scenic experience. As we reach there, we are greeted by the breathtaking view of Annapurna I (8,091m). The early morning sun shining in this very spectacular place gives a reward that makes all the hard work worth it.

As we reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), we are welcomingly received by the majestic figure of Annapurna I (8,091 m). The crescent-shaped sanctuary provides us with unimaginable and breathtaking views of all the mountains that surround us. So, after having this once-in-a-lifetime experience of witnessing a sunrise of a lifetime and subsequently photographing those mesmerizing sights, we take our breakfast at ABC and then begin our return journey to MBC. We then proceed to descend to Bamboo.

From Bamboo, we start retracing the familiar trail towards Chhomrong. Further ahead on this picturesque trail, we descend sharply into the beautiful village of Jhinu Danda. Upon our arrival at the village lodge, we securely lock away our gear before proceeding down towards the Modi Khola River for a refreshing experience at the natural hot springs there. This provides a great chance for our bodies to relax and rejuvenate after a trek of a couple of days.

The final day of our trek sees us moving through a beautiful landscape that is dotted with a number of villages, enjoying the various types of flora available within the region, as well as the dancing butterflies along the trek route. After a trek of about ninety minutes, we rest for a short while at Kyumi before proceeding to Syauli Bazar.
Departing from Syauli Bazar, it takes us two hours to reach Nayapul, thus completing the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We will arrive at Nayapul in the late afternoon and then get transported back to Pokhara.
