You will see some of the highlights of the city while traveling to the hotel, including Pashupatinath Temple, Narayanhiti Royal Palace Museum, and the peaceful Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, a representative will meet you to discuss your itinerary and answer any questions you might have about it. After you check into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore the busy streets, cafés, and shops of Thamel or relax at your hotel.

Day 2Flight to Lukla (30 minutes)

You will begin with a trip to Lukla Airport in Solukhumbu, one of the most thrilling airports in the world. The flight offers an amazing panoramic view of the Himalayas, including the well-known Mt. Everest, with its snow-covered summit in all its splendor. You can feel Mt. Everest growing on you as the flight goes on.

It will be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to land at Lukla Airport. As soon as you step off the plane, the altitude will hit you. You can take a stroll around Lukla in the afternoon. In the Khumbu region, Lukla hamlet is a well-liked tourist destination. All hiking expeditions in the Everest region begin there.

Includes: Airfare, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Lukla.

Day 3Lukla to Manjo (4-5-hour hike)

The Dudh Koshi (Milky River), which can be seen winding into the distance, is where you will begin your journey from Lukla. The rhododendron forest you will be hiking through has a powerful evergreen oak scent. The sighting of snow-capped peaks is a sign that the journey will progressively get more difficult and marks the start of an experience that will put one’s physical and mental fortitude to the test.

As you ascend, you will see rivers that are fed by snow finally reach Mongo via a suspension bridge and passing through several Buddhist stupas. You can take a stroll through Manjo village in the evening.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Manjo.

Day 4Manjo to Namche Bazaar (5-6-hour hike)

When you go out on this journey, you’ll discover that the road begins easily and progressively becomes a difficult experience. You will see the magnificence of Everest for the first time as you cross the difficult Dudh Koshi. Proceeding further, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Tibetan and Sherpa people, where you will see and enjoy a variety of eateries, cafes, hotels, banks, and internet services.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

The Sherpa Capital is another name for Namche Bazaar. You can spend this time relaxing, getting used to the surroundings, and exploring. In order to enjoy the breathtaking vistas of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other stunning peaks in Sagarmatha National Park, the majority of trekkers prefer to rise before daybreak. The opportunity to see the mountains’ shadows projected into the clouds above allows one to fully comprehend their size.

Try Champa, a type of grain that the Sherpa in the area frequently eat, and salt-butter tea as a source of energy. It is worthwhile to attend the vibrant cultural Saturday market, which is typically crowded with vendors who are frantically attempting to sell their goods.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6Namche to Tengboche Monastery (4-5-hour hike)

You will travel from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche on the sixth day of your Everest Base Camp expedition. In terms of height gain, it will be one of the hardest days of the walk (around 3,900 meters or 12,795 feet), but it will also be the most rewarding because you will be able to enjoy the amazing vistas of the Everest Mountain Range.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Tengboche.

Day 7Tengboche to Dingboche (6-7-hour hike)

You will travel to Dingboche from Tengboche. With the glacial river below and the snow-capped peaks in the distance, the day will be breathtaking as you go through the valley. You will see the well-known mountain Ama Dablam and the settlement of Pangboche along the way, which will undoubtedly make this day of your trekking adventure in Nepal unforgettable.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Dingboche.

Day 8Dingboche to Lobuche (6-7-hour hike)

Following the trail to Everest Base Camp, we set off on our journey. The hardest portion is the uphill walk from Thukla to Memorial Park, but it gives breathtaking views of the splendor of nature. Prayer flags left by courageous mountaineers can be found throughout the route. We will spend the night at Lobuche, the second-highest hamlet on the EBC trek.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Lobuche.

Day 9Lobuche to Gorakshep (5-6-hour hike)

The weather at that altitude may make the Gorakshep trek appear somewhat desolate. Trekking along trails covered in snow is to be expected. After arriving in Gorakshep, pause to enjoy the breathtaking sweeping views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks. If you’re game, you might want to go to Kala Patthar later in the day to see the stunning sunset over the Himalayas.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Gorakshep.

Day 10Visit Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Return to Lobuche (6-7-hour hike)

Next is the 5,450-meter-tall Kala Patthar (Kala means black, and Patthar means rock), which is followed by a visit to Everest Base Camp. Prepare yourself for a sight to behold: the magnificent Khumbu Glacier Valley and Mount Everest. It’s time to return to Gorakshep for a well-earned dinner and, ideally, a comfortable night’s sleep after the thrilling hike.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Lobuche.

Day 11Lobuche to Namche (7-8-hour hike)

Trekking back to Namche Bazaar is the plan. The trail descends to the Dudh Kosi, where several prayer wheels powered by water are located. The journey continues over pine and cedarwood pathways back to Sagarmatha National Park.

You will be able to catch a glimpse of Everest and the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall from behind. You can pause to take in the bizarre scenery. You will eventually arrive at Namche, where you will spend the night, after a few hours of hiking.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 12Namche to Lukla via Phakding (5-6-hour hike)

Adorned with lovely water-driven prayer wheels, the trail leads you on a picturesque journey across the Dudh Kosi River. You’ll return to Sagarmatha National Park after meandering through pine and cedarwood paths, where you may take a delicious lunch stop in the charming Chumoa village. The snowy peaks will disappear as you continue down the riverbank to Phakding, signaling the conclusion of a demanding yet exhilarating journey that tests your boundaries.

The trip next follows the winding Milky River (Dudh Koshi) into the distance through a fragrant rhododendron forest with traces of evergreen oak. You’ll arrive at Lukla after a few hours, where you may unwind and really experience the local way of life. This walk offers a life-changing experience where personal development and the splendor of nature combine to create a journey that will never be forgotten.

Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking Guide, and overnight accommodation at a local lodge in Lukla.

Travel Insurance

Nepal has a lot to offer with its incredible natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality. Travelling can also come with risks, which is why anyone visiting Nepal needs to consider purchasing travel insurance, particularly those involved in adventure activities or trekking, as well as those who will be travelling to remote areas of Nepal. A well-rounded insurance policy can provide peace of mind through protection against the following:

  • Emergency medical care
  • Trip cancellations/delays
  • Lost or damaged baggage
  • Altitude sickness from high elevations
  • Emergency rescue/evacuation by helicopter

Many trekking routes in Nepal are over 3000 meters (9842 ft); therefore, your policy should specifically state that high altitude travel is part of your Insurance plan, as well as the option to be evacuated in the event of an emergency. Choosing the right policy will help you receive the best possible care in your time of need.

If you don’t want to travel with your own equipment, there are plenty of places in Nepal where you can rent or purchase what you need (particularly in Thamel, Kathmandu’s main shopping district).
